#BreakfastReady with Dempster’s English Muffins #g!veaway

So, Dempster’s English Muffins.  There is not much more that needs to be said, really.  I mean – bagels.  Circles of deliciousness, just waiting to be toasted, and then have all the nooks and crannies filled with butter and honey.

Dempsters English Muffins

I mean, you can get all fancy pants and use them to make a complete breakfast sandwich, like I do in advance of our family’s lengthy road trips.  But this?  This is what calls my name on school day mornings.  Mornings when Goose needs to get to work, the two older E’s need to get out the door, I need to run to the basement for more milk for E3’s bottle, and E4 has soaked through his diaper.  The mornings when Goose sends E1 up with my morning pail of.  coffee and E2 follows him, bearing these on a plate, both boys grinning from ear to ear at having fed mommy her breakfast.  The English muffins that I can eat while running around and making beds and helping with socks and combing hair.  The perfect handheld start to my morning – crunchy without crumbling all over the carpet.  So, while Goose feeds the E’s downstairs, I can get our life in order upstairs and we are all ready to head out and face our day.

Dempster’s English Muffins are available in three varieties: white, whole wheat, or cinnamon raisin.  While Goose and the kids are all over any of the three flavours, I take a pass on the cinnamon raisin.  I love raisins.  I love cinnamon.  I love carbs in all it’s forms.  I do not, even a little bit, enjoy raisins in my bread.  There are tons of people out there who do – I am just not one of them. And I am not at all sorry about that.

And here’s some fascinating information: remember the old nursery rhyme “The Muffin Man”?  They weren’t talking about muffins as we know them today, but rather English Muffins.  They probably originated back in the 10th century, but took until the 19th century to become highly ‘fashionable’.

Now, for the truly exciting part (as if reading about my morning routine was thrilling enough!)  A chance for you to win one of two prize packages of 5 full value coupons each so you can try out Dempster’s English Muffins for yourself!  Contest closes December 28, 2012.  The winners will be notified by e-mail and will have 48 hours to respond with the requested information or another winner will be drawn.
