I am not quite sure what is becoming of me. I am beginning to recognize the actors in the television shows and movies that my kids watch. Not the characters in the current movie, but that they played elsewhere and even what their role was. Who am I again? Perhaps that’s part of the allure of Adventures in Babysitting. This updated version of the wholesome classic features familiar faces and a timeless appeal.
“Adventures in Babysitting,” inspired by the hugely popular 1980s film of the same name, is an upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie starring Sabrina Carpenter (of Disney Channel’s hit comedy series “Girl Meets World”) and Sofia Carson (of the hit Disney Channel Original Movie “Descendants”). In “Adventures in Babysitting,” a dull evening for two competing babysitters, Jenny (Sabrina Carpenter) and Lola (Sofia Carson), turns into an adventure in the big city as they hunt for one of the kids who somehow snuck away.
Review: Adventures in Babysitting 2016 DVD
This is one of those movies that won’t make parents want to scratch their eyeballs out while watching with their children. Really. Sure, the mishaps are rather implausible and the ending pretty predictable, but it is a good wholesome movie that doesn’t make you feel like you just choked down a dry bran muffin. Sure, the hip, cool rebel and the straight-laced A-student joining forces to prove that everyone is equally worth of respect and friendship is not exactly a new plot line. That being said, it’s still a good one. Without being excessively cheesy or too ‘in your face’, this is a fun, clean movie for the kids and parents to watch. I’d peg it as being good for the 8-13 year old crowd. While it’s action packed enough to keep my sons’ attention, I’d say it leans more heavily towards a girl audience.
To go along with a good tween movie, here are some very cool free printables – games, activities, and even a babysitting check list
