Miraculous: It’s Ladybug! Review & Giveaway

Miraculous Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir It's Ladybug 4th DVD

One of my favourite animated female superheroes is back with her fourth DVD. Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir It’s Ladybug! is available April 11, 2017 wherever movies are sold.
There are lots ot things to love about this character. She is just your average teenage girl, albeit one who happens to be living in Paris with parents who own a bakery. She has the normal teenager struggles: homework, friends, part-time job, family. All the regular hum drum stuff that makes her relatable.
But then there’s her secret life as Ladybug that makes her alluring and attractive as a role model – both to kids and parents. Ladybug works in partnership with Cat Noir. She is not his gratuitous add on nor is he her stepping stone. She has moments where she is not entirely confident in her abilities, but still manages to gather her courage and get the job done.
Hawk Moth, the sinister mastermind, makes people into villains by using their emotions – hurt, anger, mistrust – and allowing it to cloud their judgment and overtake their thinking. It is an incredibly powerful metaphor for young people who are grappling with their own emotional roller coaster. And not a bad lesson for adults, either.

This fourth instalment, It’s Ladybug! contains, for a limited time, a Ladybug paper doll. If there’s anything that comes a close second to Barbies, it is paper dolls. This one only comes with two outfits, so I am going to have to sit down with my girl and craft some more. Purely for educational purposes you know.
