So, how is it that the fairytales always go? ‘And they lived happily ever after’? Somewhere around the middle of grade school, most girls realize that marrying your prince and living life as a princess is not a viable career option. Gone are the days when getting married right out of school and then staying home is all that a woman aspired to. Well, looks like Rapunzel never did aspire to a life of only domesticity. Disney’s Tangled Before Ever After tells her story of adventure before heading off to live life in the castle.
With the help of her one true love, Eugene, and buddies Pascal and Maximus, Rapunzel explores life beyond Corona’s walls. She and her new friend, Cassandra, take on danger and excitement. After living all those years, locked up in the tower, who could blame a girl for wanting a bit of fun and excitement before taking on the heavy mantle of royal responsibilities?
What I found interesting about this movie is that Rapunzel delayed her wedding and that her beloved Eugene fully endorsed her adventures. He was supportive of her need to spread her wings and experience the life that had been denied her by the evil queen. If you’re looking for character traits in a future husband ladies, Eugene is a great example.
For a limited time, specially marked packaged come with a replica of Rapunzel’s Journal inside. It is pretty cute, but I wouldn’t say you will be writing your life story in it.
