Snow. And lots of it. There has been so much snow this winter, we are actually running out of room to put it all. Had a neighbour’s son not come over with his snow blower after the last snowfall, we might still be stuck inside. Goose has had to dig out a bathroom space outside our back door on a regular basis so poor Sir Winston does not sink over his head. And despite snickers from our fellow Canadians out in the Prairies, it was actually so cold here that school was cancelled.
What all of this boils down to is a lot of indoor time for my children. A LOT. My kids are way bigger fans of the winter outdoors than I ever will be. When we were kids and The Master Seamstress forced me out of doors and away from my beloved Barbie dolls, I would help my little sister dig forts in the snow drifts in our backyard just long enough to find a space to take a nap. True story.
To help alleviate excessive screen time, DK Canada sent my boys these sticker books. There are a ton of titles available. We were sent Hero Factory and this cool Things That Go. There are also more Lego inspired ones, like Ninjago and Star Wars. There’s also Cars and Dinosaurs, to name a few. My girl has been eyeing the Frozen, Lego Friends, and Horse ones.
This kind of a scene makes me very happy. Not only are all three of my very handsome boys seen in this picture, laying on my newly acquired rug, they are not fighting. Their entertainment does not require batteries or an electrical outlet. And no one is fighting. For the record, they are all dressed identically to go to church – makes them much easier to locate.
For a limited time, you can buy two DK Sticker books from the Sticker Boutique and get the third one free. Hurry while selection is best and help beat cabin fever.
Disclosure: My boys were sent sticker books to help facilitate this post. No other compensation was received. All opinions are honest and my own..
