So, lots of hoopla right now, right? The newest Star Wars movie has hit theatres. But what else has hit? Winter weather. Good luck getting me out to the theatre on a good day, but add in bundling up and shovelling and fighting to find a parking space – not happening.
Know what else arrived this week? The new Lego Star Wars Freemaker Adventures on Blu-Ray. That means we can all enjoy the Star Wars experience in our pyjamas, from the comfort of our own cozy living room. No snow pants required. Talk about winning.
Taking place between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, these new adventures follow a family of scavengers who build and sell starships from battle debris strewn throughout the galaxy. When their youngest discovers a natural connection with the Force through an ancient artifact – the Kyber Saber –he and his family are thrown into an epic struggle against the Empire to restore peace and freedom to the galaxy. The Freemakers explore new worlds, meet new and familiar characters and discover the strength of family.
Lego Star Wars Freemaker Adventures Review
Unlike some of the reviews coming in for Rogue One, Freemaker Adventures has been met with nothing but two thumbs up around here. The entire disc runs around 300 minutes, from end to end. But don’t worry – those 300 minutes are broken down into 13 different episodes.
The Lego Star Wars franchise continues to poke fun at itself, with a plot line that is more obvious than an ink spot on a white shirt. It is al in good fun, however, and offers a lighter version of the background stories around the Galaxy. The relatively short duration of each episode means an even younger crowd can appreciate The Force.
