Wanna feel like the odd man out? Go to an event that is serving alcohol and tell them you aren’t drinking. After the host or hostess re-aligns their jaw, wait to see if you are offered

Don’t be the unprepared party thrower. Mocktails – mixed drinks that don’t contain alcohol – are where it’s at. There are a ton of reasons people don’t consume alcohol. Maybe they are the Designated Driver. Maybe they are pregnant. Maybe they just don’t drink. That last one is shocking for many, I know. If we are to believe the online world, everyone’s night ends with a glass of red wine. But I promise you, if that much alcohol was really being consumed, there would be a lot more people calling in sick to work. Don’t believe the hype.
Mocktails Punches & Shrubshas over 80 different non-alcoholic drink combinations. Hot and cold. Exotic ingredients and stuff you will find in any pantry. Drinks that require advanced prep and ones that can be thrown together. There is no longer any excuse not to have a good mocktail selection for your non-drinking guests.
For my first experiment, I tried the Fresh Turmeric, Honey, and Guava drink. After all, it is latest super food. It was so delicious that even the boys and their friends were chugging it down. What this recipe didn’t come with was a warning about how easily turmeric stains. Not to worry. A little bleach in the dish water and some Vim with bleach and both my hands and countertop were as good as new again. If you own a Ninja Bullet, Vitamix, or a similar device, don’t bother grating the turmeric. Just peel and drop the pieces right into the blender. Neither did I bother straining the resulting elixir.
Not every recipe looks like a ‘must try’ to me. Butter Tea with Fennel? Um, maybe no. Almost anything with chia seeds? Moving right along. Beet and Rhubarb Shrub? I think there must be a better way to eat your vegetables. But the overwhelming majority look like something I would make and drink. Raspberry and Peach Medley. Zarzamora Mixer (this one I want to try just so I can say the word Zarzarmora). Pomegranate Sangria. So many delicious offerings
I’d definitely say you need to pick up a copy of Mocktails. Because nobody wants to be the odd man out.
